Decided to make graphene.
Using Robert Murray Smith’s method from YouTube I set up everything to produce graphene by the “Electrochemical exfoliation of graphite” followed by sonication to break up the tiny exfoliated graphite particles into a reasonable proportion of graphene. The process involves 2 graphite foil electrodes in a solution of sodium sulphate with a small amount of sulphuric acid added with a fibreglass felt separator to prevent the highly conductive graphite flakes forming a direct current path between electrodes. 10V DC is applied to the cell and polarity is reversed on a 2 minute/ 10 minute basis. My old friend the STEMSEL board (green thing) is ideal to drive the polarity switching relay (foreground). The STEMSEL board has a current driver output to easily operate the relay and it only took about 2 minutes to have it programmed and operating.

I will upload a video of the process at a later date.
